The aim of the day will be to explore and experience action learning and how this can support and challenge us to become better practitioners, benefit our clients and the organisations with whom we work.
The benefits – As professional practitioners we often work with groups of leaders and senior managers where we give feedback. The regular sessions provide you with the opportunity to give and receive feedback in real time and then compare this with your own experience.You will be able to sharpen your observation skills; surface the assumptions and unconscious biases that may be affecting your professional judgements, sense making and decisions.We will focus on our practice and will take time for everyone to have the space and opportunity to investigate a current challenge with which they would like to receive support and focused questions.
The workshop will be based on action learning principles and we will explore how we can use this approach to enable us to deepen our practice. The programme will begin with time and space for you to introduce yourself and get to know the other people in the room. We will explore what it is like to work in and action learning group and will use a number of processes that can illuminate the dynamics at play and provide us with the confidence to explore these dimensions. We will have the opportunity to get beneath the skin of being in a learning group and work on real issues in real time.We will contract with each other about how we work together and the group will be conducted with complete confidentiality about your personal experiences.
David Lines an experienced action learning group facilitator will work with you to guide through the day and to take time out for us to gain as much from this approach as we can.
